IT'S TIME

Many who play golf at the Buffalo Golf Club today reminisce about the grand cottonwood and evergreen trees that line our golf course, presenting narrow fairways that challenge even the longest hitters in today’s game. Of similar vintage is the clubhouse we operate out of today—the same log building constructed nearly a century ago.

The clubhouse and Buffalo Golf Club have gone through various additions, upgrades, and remodels to accommodate the growth of the game that our early visionaries only dreamt about. Which brings us to today:

The clubhouse has served a great purpose for many years, hosting countless rounds or golf, tournaments, gatherings, community events, and a vibrant culture for golf. Sitting below the treasured cottonwoods of our course, our building is beginning to show its age as it approaches the end of its life cycle. In order to honor the original BGC visionaries, it’s time for us to build a new facility for future generations to enjoy for the next century.

How we got here:  This year, we’ve taken substantial steps towards our goal of building a new clubhouse. As we continually strive to deliver the best product we can for our communities and visitors for years to come, our current clubhouse building has become a liability and a priority as we look to the future. To address this issue, the Buffalo Golf Club hired local structural engineers to conduct a structural assessment of the building.  This assessment helped us conclude that a new clubhouse is a better long-term, fiscally responsible solution.  From the assessment provided, it’s estimated that the existing building could require up to $400,000 in structural repairs and ground water mitigation to make the building sound enough to justify a remodel. This estimate does not include any renovation or code compliance costs. With this clarity, we pressed on, and are excited to collaborate with our members, communities and loyal patrons from across the entire state and region to bring our goal to life.
